THANK YOU for meeting my expectations

BIGBANG, that was a hell of a wait. I can't even imagine how excruciating it must have been for someone who's been following you for more than a couple of months. And even though you only released a mini-album.... damn. It's really good. It rocks my socks off.

I must say, the highlight for me is the last track: Cafe.
There is something about songs with a good groove that just kills me. It's why I like Baby Good Night so much, too. But Cafe... so much GD falsetto. Droooooooooooool. He's not always dead on pitch live when he's singing in a normal range (not that many of them are.... Donghae I'm looking at you), but kick him up in the stratosphere and he's crazy-good. ALSO he looks crazy gorgeous in this. They all do, actually, but I'm just overly obsessed with GD so I almost don't see the other 4. The jackets with their own giant faces on them are admittedly a bit bizarre and .... stupid.

(Also, DEAR GOD IT'S MADE OF SEQUINS. And complete with the "fuck you, I'm awesome" face. Looooooooove him.)

SO MUCH SWAGGER.

That's why G-Dragon* is undeniable. It doesn't matter that he's not very big. That he doesn't have the insane muscles that some other androgynous kpop boys are hiding. That he wears absolutely insanely bad things some times (see TKPA for more on this). What matters is that when he gets in front of a camera or on a stage** he DEMANDS that you recognize the mojo that literally floods from his pores. And you do, because DAMN. Justin Timberlake wishes he had 1/10th the swagger that GD's got.

I just feel like everything GD does performance-wise is basically him saying, "Fuck you - I'm awesome." And he is.

There is much more I need to write about GD, as he is occupying much of my life at the moment. But nothing seems quite right, which is why I've put it off this long. This was just a little attempt to get something up on the blog, mostly as an earmarker to remind myself to further express my love for all things GD.

Also, his band (Big Bang) is coming out with a new mini-album in like SIX DAYS. I am SO EXCITED for this. And at some point, we should get an actual music video for the song above - but its been caught up by the korean TV sensors for being AWESOME, apparently.

* I detested his name at first. But I was turned because 1) he totally lives up to it. I will call him whatever he wants to be called. There are more ridiculous things he could pull off. 2) There is logic to the madness. His actual name is Kwon Ji Yong. "Ji" easily becomes "G". And, turns out, "Yong" means "dragon" in Korean. So.... it's kind of totally legit. :)

**Yeah, 'cause when he's not performing - he seems totally quiet, shy, and ridiculously respectful. And the juxtaposition just makes me love him all the more.

Zefron Drag Update

So FYI - I brought the fucking house down.  :)
Those chorus ladies went insane over my highly accurate portrayal of Emo Zefron.

And apparently, I'm very hot dressed in drag and channeling Zac Efron.
(But then, who wouldn't be, amiright?)

so this isn't on the list...

(EDIT: Now it is. its 17 hours long and I've watched it 5.5 times in two weeks.)

...but I recently started watching Coffee Prince, the Korean Drama. (Although it was spurred from watching the BigBang parody, so maybe it still counts.) (Also, I probably should add androgyny in general to the list, in which case the totally and completely fits.)

Eun Chan is such a fantastic wackadoo. Watching her try to be a girl and walk in heels, her eating anything, running around like a crazy person, talking to herself.... she's just awesomely ridiculous. I'm totally in love with her, and Han Kyul - he's just freaking gorgeous. And he's adorable because he loves her soooo much.

So.... if you feel like you need to break into the world of Korean Dramas, I highly recommend Coffee Prince.
The whole thing's on www.dramafever.com :)

this video was pretty much made for me.

It's got Leeteuk front and center.  Lookin' all gorgeous.
And then it's got Sungmin, bein' all adorable.
AND he's got a corndog.
Seriously.  What more could a girl ask for.  :D

I heart Dorks.

So....  Leeteuk's sister and Yesung should get together and have dancing!fail parties, right?
And she can teach him how to really own that shit.
Seriously though, I kind of think they're perfect for each other.

So for those of you not in the know (as I have yet to really expand on them), Super Junior is a Kpop boy-band with 13 (sometimes 15? sometimes 10?) members.  They all do different things and have different talents, but Yesung is one of the top singers in the group.  He is also the most bizarre.  The rest of SuJu are all guys who you think would be really cool and popular in high school or something at least within their own groups.  Yesung, not so much. He's the weirdo musical theater kid.  And I love him all the more for it.
